Kune Kune Pigs

We love to show our Kune Kune pigs to everyone! They are incredibly tame and love getting their bellies rubbed.

The Kune Kune pig is also called the grazing pig because it can live off grass throughout the summer. When there is plenty of grass, they don't root in the ground much, but don’t be mistaken: when autumn arrives and grass growth slows down while the soil becomes soft, they can root in the ground and turn a pasture into a plowed field like any other pig.

Kune Kune is a slow-growing breed that develops a good amount of intramuscular fat, making the meat tender and almost melt-in-your-mouth when prepared. 2025 was our first season with piglets, and therefore also the first season we had pigs for slaughter. We have chosen not to castrate the pigs. This way, we avoid subjecting them to a surgical procedure and preserve their growth potential. We have produced the most delicious pork roasts and hams, which tasted excellent, and the rest of the meat is sold as cured sausages in our farm shop.

We breed Kune Kune pigs with pedigrees from EKKPS, the European breeding association. We usually have piglets in spring and summer, which are sold at 8 weeks old for breeding or as hobby animals. It is always possible to sign up for the waiting list.
